Most of the souls that live here

Regie/ Igor and Ivan Buharov • Montage/ László Dunai

TRAILER Synopsis The renowned anarchist teacher Count Ervin Batthyány reappears 100 years after his death. He tries to put his theories into practice again, as he realises that the world has not turned out as he had expected. There is no Utopia, free of rulers. He founds a new free school with the help of some like-minded people, and starts teaching a new generation who believe in solidarity and cooperation, rather than a system of oppression. But the ideal of freedom and equality awakens the same fears in the choreographers of power as it did 100 years ago. And after an encouraging start the count and his friends come up against more and more obstacles. A strange and surreal S8 vision about freedom, power and political Utopia. Igor & Ivan Buharov It has been more than 21 years that they have been working together, under the pseudonym of Igor and Ivan Buharov. They have been producing anddirecting several films. (experimentals, features, shorts, documentaries, animations) They have also been involved in the creation of several music projects and film music. Their works always dancing on the edge of fine art and cinematic art. The Buharovs shoot their films mainly with super 8 technique and combine elements of experimental filmmaking and narrative story-telling. The use of dreamlike imagery, poetical and philosophical texts, and self-written music give the specific atmosphere of their films. The world created by the Buharovs moves on the frontier of dream and reality, they capture archetypical experiences in surrealistic atmosphere. The protagonists are mostly friends and non-actors, who live outside of mainstream and elite culture, and often speak out poetic or philosophical dialogues given to them. The vision of freedom and its impossibility, the slow steps of the individual towards self-liberation are topics touched with melancholy and irony. László Dunai Filmography as Editor: 2016 Most of the Souls That Live Here 2015 Dear Mother (Short) 2014 Egy nap kezdete (Short) 2014 A kivégzés (Short) 2011 Csinálhatok egy fotót?
